There has just been a war between Antigones twain chum salmons about who is to rule Thebes. Both of Antigones brothers died, entirely Creon left-hand(a) the brother who attacked Thebes, Polyneices, un hide as a form of punishment. Antigone went against Creons orders and buried him anyway. Creon decides to free Antigone, but he is too late. Antigone hanged herself. Haimon killed himself because he loved her. Haimons mother killed herself because she had recently lost her other son, as well. Now, Creon can do nothing but weep. Antigone lived in a patriarchal society where women were inferior to men. Women had an inadequ ate amount of authorize and were expected to conform to the ideologies of society. Antigones gender is a major part of the tragedy, her gender affects not only the meaning of her actions, but the consequences as well.
